Well-known keynotes will lead reflections on the importance of leadership in times of changes and, at the same time, present their view on what types of changes our world is facing on the way towards a global circular bioeconomy with the focus on forests and forest-based sectors.
Xavier Marcet, President of Lead to Change, will set the scene while he examines leadership in a world of accelerated changes and unprecedented challenges.
During the first session, Peter Csoka, from the Forestry Department of FAO, will describe which forest resources do we have globally and how they can be used to realise the bioeconomy concept. He’ll be followed by Alexander Buck, from the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), who will stress on issues of global forest governance with this regard.
The second session will help to discover regional perspectives of the forest-based bioeconomy. In particular, at the scale of Europe presented by Lauri Hetemäki from EFI, Russia by Sergei Bobylev from Lomonosov Moscow State University and China by Xiaoqian Chen from EFI.
The event is free of charge to attend and takes place on Monday 11 March in the Louhela Auditorium at the Business Joensuu Oy premises.
The seminar marks the Opening Event for the 2019 edition of EFI’s Young Leadership Programme YLP Eurasia.
