University of Eastern Finland UEF has a campus in Joensuu and Kuopio. The most diverse science university in Finland is also an active promoter of innovation activities and economic growth. Emphasising cooperation
Emphasising a multidisciplinary approach, the university searches for solutions to four global challenges through interdisciplinary research and education. The research challenges are:
- Ageing, lifestyles and health
- Learning in a digitised society
- Cultural encounters, mobilities and borders
- Environmental change and sufficiency of natural resources
The objective is to create open innovation ecosystems with cooperative partners in the profile areas, enabling a new form of activity between researchers, students, companies, public institutions, associations and citizens.
