Forest & Photonics 2022 takes place November 9.-10. and is held at the UEF campus, nearby Photonics Center  (Futura-building, Yliopistokatu 7, Joensuu, Finland).

Wednesday 9th November

Key note speaker:  Kim Calders, University of Ghent: Digital twins for understanding forest disturbances and recovery from space.

Sanna Härkönen, Bitcomp Ltd: Up-to-date forest data with AI and satellite monitoring.

Matthieu Roussey, University of Eastern Finland: Photonics to prevent forest fires.

Tuomo Kauranne from Arbonaut Ltd. and Katja Lefevre from Specim Spectral Imaging Ltd. will hold their presentations as part of the Applications of Photonics course.
